Studying about Moshiach and the Geulah is “the direct path” to bringing Moshiach in actuality…one shuld study Torah sources from the written, oral Torah, Talmud, Midreash, including the inner dimension of Torah, Chassidus etc. – The Lubavitcher Rebbe, Sichas Shabbos Parshas Tazria-Metzora, 5751
When the L-rd returns the returnees to Zion, we will be like dreamers
Exile is a dreamlike state of being. In a dream, a person lives entirely in the fantasies of one’s mind, totally disconnected from the reality around him. In this sense, exile is like a waking and walking dream. In this delusion, we forget our faith and passively accept reality.
The solutions is to know that there is more to reality than what we see, and it is this ultimate G-dly reality that should drive our thoughts, speech, and deeds.
I cant shake the feeling. Sometimes Hollywood actually gets it right, and when you peel off the layers of grub and shtus, the Matrix is real. We wake up in the morning and work as hard as we can. We need money and we need it bad. Thousand square foot houses for a million five, luxury cars, and the latest fashion. Our lives are shifts in an assembly line. Coffee, Work, Lunch, Work, Work, Dinner, Sleep, Coffee, Work. The Talmud says about Edom that they grind their bread to make flour, meaning that they work to eat to work to eat to work. Its an endless and empty cycle that the Jew falls into in exile. So what do we do?
You take the blue pill – the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe.
Is this Galus the life? Are we really meant to live without G-dly revelation, Moshiach, the Beis HaMikdash, and the Ingathering of the Exiles? Is our spiritual and physical prosperity of the past 70 years really blinding us to the fact that we are still in Galus?
You take the red pill – you stay in Wonderland, and I show you how deep the rabbit hole goes.
The Erev Rav told the Jewish People that Moshe was dead and gone, and they needed to replace him with a new leader, a new god. 40 days to the minute they said, and he isnt back. So the Jewish people believed them and gave up on Moshe and went for the gold.
Here we are again right before Moshiach and our Rebbe, the Moshe of the Generation went up the mountain. Its been almost 19 years and the Erev Rav again is saying give up. Give up on the Rebbe, give up on his message and give up on Moshiach. 19 years later we are stronger and more determined than ever.
